Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 6:45 pm
Alfred-Almond School District Auditorium

There is to be a public hearing in regards to material the Almond Library has on their shelves. A library’s duty is to have information for all and all information free from discrimination. Please help support the Almond Library as they face this challenge to the freedom of access to information in a safe public space.

The Cuba Library is also under such a challenge in regards to their materials. Please help support them to protect the publics access to this information.

Moon Phases

One of my favorite hobbies is Moon watching. It reminds me of the beauty of space and nature, and the ways of the ancient world. Sometimes it is easy to forget about the Moon and the stars constantly in motion just beyond the blue sky. One of my favorite sites for helping me follow the Moon is the Moon Phases 2023 – Lunar Calendar on https://www.timeanddate.com/. They have more than just the Moon phases, but also the dates of eclipses, the exact times of sunrise/sunset, and more. If astronomy is of interest to you, or you just like knowing the time of the Moon, this site is a great start for exploration.

The link below is to the Lunar Calendar.

Altered Art

Do you ever feel like a painting is missing something? That in the background of that Victorian manor those highland hills would look just a smidge better with a dragon flying over them? Perhaps that is just me and my dragon obsession.

Welcome to “Altered Art.” In this program, we will be adding to prints of paintings. You can paint, draw, cut, glue, and any other form of alteration you see fit to add your artistic flair to a pre-existing art piece. We have seven prints available for this project and all the supplies you will need. If you have a print at home that you would like to bring to alter feel free to bring it along! In the world of stories and legends, in the walls of a library, what better place to be inspired?

Dates: October 16 to October 27 (or when we run out of prints to alter)

Where: At the Belmont Free Library

When: During the library hours (Monday 1 PM to 5 PM, Tuesday 1 PM to 7 PM,

Thursday 9 AM to 3 PM, and Friday 1 PM to 5 PM)

Come enjoy the fun during the mystical time of October!
