Play and Stay

February 12 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
A whimsical illustration for a "Toddler Stay & Play" event. In the center, three young children run and play tambourines between library bookshelves. They are accompanied by a large, friendly green dragon and a small, fuzzy brown monster. A librarian stands in the background, smiling and clapping. The text reads: "Toddler Stay & Play: Read, Roar & Dance! Thursday, February 12th at 10:30."

Toddler Stay & Play: Read, Roar & Scare the Nian Away! Get ready to make some noise! This February 12th at 10:30 AM, we are diving into the traditions of the Lunar New Year. We’ll follow the animals in The Great Race and then take part in a library-wide parade. Following the ancient tradition of scaring away the monster Nian, our toddlers will use music and dance to bring good luck and vibrant energy to the library.

Don’t forget to wear red! This bright color is a key part of the tradition to keep the Nian at bay. No registration is necessary—just bring your dancing shoes and a loud roar!
